Starting out with a very light soil on a hillside, we started terracing where you see the corn in the June pictures. Most of the compost at this time is yard clean up and leaves from last fall. 
 

First full day of summer and Jakes Pedal tractor is buried with me on it. The composting in this area so far as paid off.

Picture at the first part of June, few things are showing and plenty of volunteer potato's will soon sprout. Started adding more compost and in the next picture you'll see what a difference it makes in growth. 

Here's the potato patch for this year. Peelings in last falls compost are what make up this garden.
